IX. Project - The ideal city of the future

Work in groups. Design a poster of the ideal city of the future.

Present your poster to the class. Use these questions as cues for your presentation:

  • Where will it be located?
  • How big will it be? How many people will live in it?
  • How will people travel?

  • Will people use AI technologies? If yes, how will they be used?

On the eastern coast of Vietnam, 50km south of Da Nang City. Built on elevated platforms to protect from sea level rise, with direct access to the ocean and mountain views.

How big will it be? How many people will live in it?

Total area: 30 square kilometers divided into 6 smart districts. Population: 1.5 million residents with capacity to expand to 2 million by 2050. Each district houses 250,000 people in mixed-use communities.

How will people travel?

Integrated transport system: High-speed maglev trains between districts (5 min), autonomous electric pods for personal transport, bike-sharing networks, electric water taxis along canals, and moving walkways in city center.

What kind of buildings will people live in?

Vertical eco-towers (30-50 floors) with integrated gardens, flexible smart apartments that adapt to family size, community spaces on every 5th floor, rooftop farms, and buildings made from recycled ocean plastic and bamboo.

Will people use AI technologies? If yes, how will they be used?

Comprehensive AI integration: Personal AI assistants in Vietnamese language, city-wide traffic optimization, predictive weather and disaster management, smart energy distribution, health monitoring through wearables, and AI-powered waste sorting and recycling systems.
